[FOUNDER]

KIM FORGE
Kim was born in Canada and embarked on a teaching exchange to Tasmania in 2001. She escaped a broken marriage as a young, naive girl and brought her four-year-old son with her on the journey. She needed to re-evaluate and reset. And so it happened that this new start would be the key to life-long happiness. She met her perfect match and chose Australia to live out this resurrection.Kim visited Freycinet many times during her exchange and credits her second coming to the life lessons experienced in Tasmania. Much time was spent in the idyllic setting of the North East.Kim met and married her husband, a fifth-generation Australian farmer from the banks of the Murray River in Northern Victoria. Together and individually, they have supported each other to experience their life goals. A very rewarding life of children, career and passion followed.Years of travel have provided the couple with incredible memories that have instilled a feeling of adventure, gratitude and contentment. Kim wanted to create this experience in one of the most special places in the world, Tasmania. With a deep connection and appreciation for the people and culture of the Nordic countries, Kim has taken the Danish concept of hygge and integrated that way of living to the fabric of Still. Hygge – the Scandinavian term encompassing a feeling of cosiness, contentment and well-being found through cherishing the little things. Hygge embraces nature and its revitalising energy. Please enjoy Still. It is a time to rest, reflect, reconnect and appreciate the little things you already have.

[HOST]

KENDRA
Kendra is the gracious host of Still. She grew up in Launceston and moved to Coles Bay at 18, where she was first introduced to the world of Luxury Accommodation. She fell in love with the simplicity of the coastal lifestyle and the beauty that is the Freycinet Peninsula, immediately knowing she would call Coles Bay home. Kendra has spent the past 15 years working in the Hospitality and Tourism industry, with a couple of years spent in NSW chasing various other life passions. Home to Tasmania since 2018 and living with her partner of 10 years and their beautiful little girl. They are avid dog lovers and enjoy exploring with the four-legged friends. Kendra loves being able to make the experiences from our area special and memorable for others, as that kindness was offered to her when she first arrived in Coles Bay. This what keeps her love of the industry alive. We are proud to have Kendra exclusive to Still.

[BUILDER]

EAST COAST CONSTRUCTIONS
East Coast Constructions Tas Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated, local business on the East Coast of Tasmania. During their 15 years in business, Zane and Georgia have raised two sons, who are also in the building industry. Over this time ECCTAS has grown to become a medium-sized building company employing 4 qualified and highly skilled carpenters, a cabinet maker and just recently, an apprentice who lives within the area. The team at ECCTAS (Zane, Georgia, Ben and Baden) agree that the beauty of living in such a remote part of the country provides opportunities to build new homes and renovate old homes in a stunning location. Being in such a remote area, their crew of carpenters have learnt to be diverse in their skill set, and no project is out of reach. They are always up for the challenge. A challenge is what they got with Still. Covid-19, rain, rain and more rain, material supply shortages and delays and access to the jobsite, provided the challenge. This was the first project that young Baden completely oversaw. From start to finish and with the guidance of Ben and Zane he did a fantastic job, and one that he can be proud of for years to come. Still at Freycinet is now a stunning property for all to enjoy when visiting the East Coast of Tasmania.

[ARHITECT]

JENNIFER BINNS
Jennifer Binns is a sole practitioner who has worked as a building designer on Tasmania's East Coast for over 20 years. Originally completing a degree in Industrial Design and working as a furniture designer in Victoria, Jennifer was drawn to bespoke home design and after relocating to Tasmania she undertook further studies in residential building design and has built a thriving design practice. While primarily a residential designer, Jennifer’s work also includes design and planning for public community spaces. She is interested in clever, compact buildings which provide light, comfortable, beautiful environments for their occupants and minimise energy consumption. Her focus is on listening to what her clients want and meeting the brief through site responsive design and smart, considered design solutions which maximise the functional and aesthetic potential of developments.

[SAUNA]

BRAD CLEARY
Brad Cleary is the owner/builder from Tasmania’s Schweiss Saunas. Kim was very particular with her design brief with Brad, having an exact idea of ultimate sauna escape because of her many trips abroad. The sauna was the first part of Still built! Brad was able to deliver the perfect sauna. He made the process really fun along the way. When asked to provide a bio for the website he wrote, and I quote, “I’m just a clever bloke that just likes getting people naked”. Brad’s sharp wit and sassy sense of humour make him impossible to forget. He’s a big part of the story of Still. He was asked for a picture…..but sadly declined….he wants to remain a bit mysterious.

[PRIVATE CHEF]

CHRIS LUCAS
Chris always had a passion for food – growing and cooking it. He started working in commercial kitchens at 17 and quickly developed a desire for learning and understanding the origins of products His cooking is influenced by his many travels to Europe and North Africa and the time he spent living and working in the United Kingdom and Germany. Inspired by the natural beauty and the pure produce of Tasmania he eventually made the island his home with the desire to create unique menus and experiences. While the dry East Coast of Tasmania is not the easiest place to grow food, he made it work by only growing What Grows. He taught himself how to use the natural conditions and turned a bare piece of sand into a lush and fruitful garden. What Grows represents the idea to let the things that are growing grow and use what is there to create beautiful and seasonal meals. His menus are inspired by the seasonal produce that surrounds him on land and in the waters of the East Coast of Tasmania.

[MASSAGE THERAPISTS]

JEMMA AND SAM
Sam and Jemma are partners in business and in life. They have a small family and love living the simple life on Tassie's beautiful East coast. They are both Remedial Massage Therapists and have a passion for creating space for our clients to relax, unwind and heal. Sam comes from a history of working in the outdoors as a multi-day bush walking guide and has a passion for helping people to connect with their deeper selves, their bodies and the world around them. He studied Remedial massage in Tasmania with Evolve College and loves helping people to relax, understand their bodies, their pain and aid in the process of healing. Jemma started her journey working with the body at a young age; becoming a personal trainer and yoga teacher and working in the fitness industry for a few years before studying massage. She started massaging working in luxury spas and soon decided to further her massage training and became a Remedial Therapist. We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you sink into the beauty of Tasmania's East Coast with a nourishing massage.
I fell in love with yoga whilst living in Hawaii and have been teaching and practising for 18 years. What I love about yoga is the connections you make with yourself and how much you learn about your body and mind through the class/journey. It’s movement and exercise with awareness. I can offer restorative, gentle and intermediate classes and I love anatomy so I’ll keep you safe! Meditation/pranayama and sound healing can all become a part of your class. You can build the class and the experience you wish.
HELEN

[BLUECOAST YOGA]

Originally from England I migrated to Australia in the mid 90’s & lived in Melbourne for 20 years before moving to Cole’s Bay in 2016. I discovered reflexology while on holiday in Malaysia and enjoyed the experience so much I decided to enrol in a weekend course to learn more. This then led to continuing my studies to practitioner level at the Australian School of Reflexology & Relaxation in Melbourne. We expect so much from our feet and they are often starved of attention. This ancient therapy applies gentle pressure to points on the feet that correspond with all body parts for natural healing. Aches and pains are eased, circulation is improved and stress and tension are relieved. I look forward to meeting you and your feet during your stay at Still at Freycinet.

[RELFLEXOLOGY]

  • Thank you for such an incredible few days. The experience was 12/10 and easily the best airbnb we have ever stayed in. We travelled with our two kids (5 yo and 8 months) and Kim & Kendra were so accommodating. Setting up a portacot and providing a high chair was no issue. There was also a great kids/chill area with lego, games and books to keep the kids entertained. I highly recommend the private dining experience with Chris - it was sensational. Looking forward to our return stay!

  • This is the best air bnb I have ever stayed at! The house, the feel, the view all spectacular… as soon as you walk in the feeling is pure luxe from the music, the lighting (we arrived at dusk) the breakfast hamper, everything has been thought off no details are missed. Highly recommend the all 4 adventure tours (buggy ride through Freycinet National Park) we did this and had so much fun as a family of 5…

  • Absolutely beautiful property, view and surrounds with the most amazing features, lighting and appointments. Very spacious, yet luxurious, we stayed with another couple and our 3 year old, and had perfect mix of activities and toys for kids and saunas and fire pits for adults. The Tasmanian bathroom products were amazing (we’ve since ordered many of the same to be sent to us). We would definitely stay again
